Hold on to your hats ladies and gents because Century 21 department store is making Valley Stream it newest location!
The discount retailer is adding VS to its growing list of store locations; making VS NY’s sixth location. The store will have 2 floors and will be located by Sears.
In recent years, Green Acres Mall has undergone new changes in an attempt to revive the area from its hay day and contend with neighboring malls like Garden City’s Roosevelt Field Mall, and Queens Center Mall. Some changes included an updated façade, brand new food court, and new flooring and lighting. Apart from C21’s upcoming arrival, Kay Jewelers will also be making its way to Green Acres Mall, but will open much earlier than C21.
Other stores such as Target recently renovated its entire store. Walmart has doubled its size; now becoming a Super Walmart. There will soon be a Green Acres Commons where the Sunrise Multiplex Movie Theater once stood, and new restaurants such T.I.G.Fridays made its debut in 2011, and Chipotle Mexican Grill, and Panera Bread opened earlier this year.
All of these new changes comes in the wake of The Macerich Company (owner) plans for Green Acres Mall retail development and expansion. Macy’s increased their parking lot by adding a 3 level parking garage a few years ago. H&M, Victoria’s Secret, Pink, have been renovated with an upscale look, while Things Remembered is currently being remodeled.
C21 is expected to open this Fall. As of now, there is no news on what promotions or sales that may happen on opening day, but one can only bet that it will be a good day to take the day off.
